It wouldn't be a trip to Brownsea without trying for some red squirrel photos!
It took us quite a while before we found any but then in the late afternoon we happened on a couple that were very active and we managed to grab a few pics.
To be quite honest I had too big a lens for the job, a 300 mm would have been ample but the 500mm came good for the wading birds!

One of my kingfisher nests have hatched and the parents are both actively feeding the young with small fish fry.

A few shots of dippers from this morning's shoot at a fast flowing stream through the Cornish countryside.
Not too sure what was going on as we thought they were feeding mobile fledged youngsters but were also feeding each other and mating!

A few shots of these harvest mice on reed heads and on corn stalks.
All set up of course but it's very rare to even see a harvest mouse in the wild let alone photograph one!

A bit of photographic practice with these captive foxes yesterday.
I joined David and some of his University students at the West Country Wildlife Photography Centre over the Cornish border in Devon.
We tried some slow shutter panning, some high shutter speed action shots and a few portraits.
All good fun!

Our Walmsley flock of Black tailed Godwits were very unsettled this evening as a Sparrowhawk made a few sorties of the reserve keeping them on the move.
A couple of Ruff amongst them and a few Wigeon.
